Our morning took us to Rainbow Springs State Park. I just love this park. It’s got native beauty, cultivated gardens, waterfalls, an incredibly blue spring, glass-bottom boats, and an equal opportunity to see manatees or Florida bears. There is also the allure of overgrown abandoned park areas that Jeff is attracted to.

He liked it more than I thought he would! Jeff was actually sad that we didn’t have time to rent one of the boats before we had to head to Silver Springs. When faced with the choice of lunch versus boat, lunch won out. We stopped at Mojo. The food was good and we got cupcakes for dessert from the Girl Scouts outside. Silver Springs State Park is one of the oldest state parks in Florida and It. Is. Beautiful! We had a little time to explore the grounds before our scheduled glass-bottom boat tour.

This was a great glass-bottom boat tour with some really cool natural and social historical details. I won’t ruin it for you if you decide you want to take the tour one day, but it was fascinating to see the springs, the artifacts, the animals, and beauty of the day.

We went on a futile walk to glimpse some of the monkeys that live in the park, before heading to Gainesville. We ate at The Top before getting a flight at First Magnitude.
